Leading messaging service provider Viber on Tuesday announced the launch of its new Public Chats feature in the Indian market. This feature allows the Viber users to follow their favourite personalities, content creators, brands and more via the messaging service. The feature is already live in the Android app of the service.
According to Viber, it has partnered with over 300 personalities globally for using the Public Chats feature and around 56 of these celebrities or content creators are targeted to the Indian users. Some of the popular Indian names that you will find in the Viber Public Chats are Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Saina Nehwal, Sonu Nigam, Ayushmann Khurrana, Shaan, and Zomato.
Viber notes that the most popular chats will be featured on the home screen of the Public Chats section of Viber and also, the users can easily search to find out their favourite influencers in the chats.
“The release of Public Chats on Viber allows people to interact in a new way, listening to live discussions and staying up-to-date with exclusive content from the people and interests that matter to them most. We are launching this with a great line-up of celebrities, personalities, brands, influencers all over India,” said Anubhav Nayyar, Country Head-India, Viber.
